June

June 2 - Informal Meeting

June 4 - Fly Tying with Veterans (Columbia VA Hospital)

June 6 - Kids Fishing Derby @ Binder Park.
We will be back again at binder Park for the kids fishing Derby.  We need all hands on deck for this one. We are one of the named sponsors of this event so we really need to stand out!  To do that we need to bring manpower to the event.  Last year we had 18 volunteers from our club alone help out. We would really love to see that same amount again this year.  The event will be Saturday, June 6 from 7:30 AM to around 11AM.

This is one of three big  community events we have every year.  We will need people for the signup tables (8AM-9AM), to hand out water and snacks(ALL DAY), to help record and measure fish (9AM-10AM), and help at the casting contest (10AM TO 11AM).  Please take a morning out of your schedule to help!  Please let Greg Curtin or Justin Beyer know you will be there.  We had a sign up sheet at the April meeting, but still need 9-10 more volunteers.  Please Help!

June 6-7 - Missouri Free Fishing Weekend

June 9 - Club Outing at Countryside Park - Taos
The June outing will be held at Countryside Park in Taos on June 9. Eating begins at 6:00 PM. Fish before and after is encouraged.   To get things started I have spoke with Phil Curtin and he has agreed to being part of a fish fry again this year.  We still need a volunteer to be the event coordinator for this one.  Phil will handle prepping the fish, French fries, and onion rings.  The event coordinator will mainly focus on the sign-up list and the other potluck items people intend to bring to round out the meal.  Event coordinator will also need to make sure we have enough plates, utensils, paper towels, and any other potential needs.  Until we get an event coordinator, please let Justin Beyer know if you will attend, how many from the household will attend, and what potluck dish, side, or dessert you would like to bring.

June 16 - Informal Meeting

June 18 - Veteran Appreciation Picnic - Jaycee Park (County Park)
An invitation has been extended to the Veterans from Columbia to come down for an appreciation picnic at the small pavilion around the park. We are doing this to avoid having to book one of the bigger pavilions just in case we have to reschedule. It also gives those who want to fish the opportunity to walk around the lake and enjoy the day. Any volunteers to help at the picnic are welcome. Plan to arrive at 11:00 AM and stay until 3:00 PM. Please watch for updates via email.

March

Club Banquet - March 6

The club's fundraising banquet is about 9 months ways and yo would think that gives us plenty of time to get it together. But, we still need two more volunteers to join the banquet committee. Be aware that the bulk of our funds comes from this fundraiser. So help it be a success.

There are different ways to help:
1. Join the banquet committee to plan and organize the event. 5 committee members are needed.
2. Donate to the banquet. Fishing and non-fishing items accepted.
3. Sell Tickets. Open to the public and we want people to freely spend their money.
4. Help at the event. There will be lots to do.
The goal is to sell, at least, 125 tickets. So help by getting involved.
